2016 - Maratona dles Dolomites Day2


Today Vince and I met up with Guido, Marc and Danny for a Pre-ride. We were going to ride the Sella Ronda, which is the first loop of the Maratona. As I was going to ride the Maratona on Sunday I decided to take this ride easy. During the climbs of the Passo Campolongo and Passo Pordoi we rode together with a lot of participants of the Tour de Kika.

This is a charity ride of a week to support the Dutch Child Cancer Fund. They were doing one of the last rides and both climbs I was riding with an elderly man that told me all about why he was riding, and how hard it was. I have so much respect for the participants! Well done all!

Riding the Sella Ronda I was stunned by the beauty of the Dolomites! What a great place to ride. After the Campolongo and Pordoi, the Passo Sella and Passo Gardena quickly followed. Of the 4 climbs, I found the Passo Sella the hardest. I just never found a real rhythm in that climb.
